What is 9BLOCK?

9BLOCK is a minimalist memory game. Numbered blocks appear on screen briefly, then the numbers hide. Tap the blocks in the correct numerical order before time runs out.

What are the different game modes?

Streak — 9 blocks, 1 second to memorize. Build the longest possible streak of correct rounds.

Ranked — Difficulty adjusts automatically based on your performance. Start with fewer blocks and more time; improve and the game gets faster and harder.

Custom — Set the number of blocks (5–10) and the reveal time yourself. Good for practice.

Daily — A new 9-stage challenge every day, the same for every player worldwide. One attempt per day.

How do I reveal the numbers?

Tap anywhere on the screen when it says "TAP TO REVEAL." The numbers will show for the set amount of time, then disappear. Tap the blocks in numerical order starting from 1.

What is Swipe Mode?

Instead of tapping a block to select it, press and hold, then swipe it away. Swipe Mode can be turned on or off in Settings at any time.

Progress & Scores

Where is my progress saved?

All scores, settings, and game progress are stored locally on your device. Nothing is sent to any server. Deleting or reinstalling 9BLOCK will permanently erase your saved data.

Can I transfer my progress to a new phone?

Not currently. Progress is stored only on the device and cannot be transferred, backed up to iCloud, or synced between devices.

Why did my stats reset?

Stats are stored locally. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, or if the app's local data was cleared, your progress will have been removed. This cannot be recovered.

Troubleshooting

The app isn't working correctly.

Try these steps in order:

  1. Force-quit 9BLOCK and reopen it.
  2. Restart your device.
  3. Make sure you have the latest version of 9BLOCK installed.
  4. Make sure your device is running a supported version of iOS.

Sound or haptics aren't working.

Check that Sound and Haptics are both turned on inside 9BLOCK Settings (the gear icon on the main menu). Also make sure your device is not on silent and that haptics are enabled in your iPhone's system Settings.

The Daily challenge says I already played today but I haven't.

The Daily resets at midnight UTC, not your local time. If it's early morning in your timezone, the new challenge may not have unlocked yet for you — this is expected behavior.
